You must check out Kanna Glass Studios

Ooo... it's been a while since I blogged. June/July are always very busy months for me with lots going on including many birthdays, family holidays and last weekend was Glastonbury Festival. My tenth year of going and this year was one of the best for me. We had the obligatory rain/mud but it soon dried out and I still managed to come home with a suntan having seen and done so much.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you about Jenn from Kanna Glass Studios and urge you to check her out. Back in April I won her blog giveaway of some beautiful green swirl beads from which I made teardrop earrings and a teardrop pendant. I loved these beads so much I immediately commissioned her to make me more in different colours and here's what arrived.

Her packaging and attention to detail is outstanding. It felt like my birthday as I opened up the beautiful little pillow boxes to find the lovely beads inside.

Then, very soon after that, I won another of her giveaways with a twist. To fit in with her Blooming in June theme, she sent me and another lucky winner a set of similar beads and has challenged us to create something with them and post our creation. I won this stunning Tuscan Bead Set with a fab swirly flower.

The colours are HOT, HOT, HOT (just like the weather here today) and the bead collection says 'bracelet' to me (might even manage a pair of earrings too). I have a few ideas swimming around in my head but I'm not sure whether they will work.

Thank you so much Jenn for all the goodies. I think you have helped me find my inspiration (it's been such a long time, I was thinking it had gone for good!). Watch this space...

Spiral Loop Chandelier Earrings and more...

Well, finally the weather was kind to me and I was able to find some time to photograph my latest earrings.

Firstly, here are my Spiral Loop Chandelier Earwires with some gemstone dangles (beautiful amethyst faceted drops paired with rubellite garnet). I was very tempted to keep these but have decided to put them up for sale in my Etsy and Folksy (please click the photo for a direct link to the Etsy listing).
The second pair of earrings feature some unusual octagon shaped faceted lilac amethyst beads. The beads aren't perfect with some natural inclusions and slight flaws but I still think they look fab.

And lastly, some more earrings from my range I am calling 'Spiral Adorned'. These earrings are made from some stunning glossy vibrant blue agate coin beads adorned with spirals. (My husband said the beads looked liked blue Smarties but the old type before they stopped using all those E numbers in the colouring!). These earrings are also for sale in my Etsy and Folksy shops.

Simply the beads

I've had these beautiful swirl wrapped silver beads for a long time now. I bought them from an overseas seller and they were quite expensive. I put them in my collection for a future design and have since taken them out severals times, looked at them and then ended up putting them back in storage waiting for the right moment.

Well, I have finally decided their moment has come! They don't need to wait any longer because I have realised they are lovely just as they are and all they needed was the right earwire to set them off. I chose these large hooped handmade earwires and they sit pefectly and swing gracefully.

These are the largest earwires I have made so far so I decided to make a few more and add some other beautiful beads from my collection. I'm really pleased with the results. The earrings below feature some lovely sparkly faceted crystal quartz beads.

Both of these earrings and some others are now listed for sale in my eBay and Folksy shops (please follow the links on the right of my blog).
